🌄 Our Unforgettable Educational Trip to Mustang
There are some journeys that stay in our hearts forever — our recent college trip to Mustang was definitely one of them. With 55 excited students, a few dedicated teachers, and bags full of curiosity, we set out not just for adventure but also for learning and exploration. The trip combined education, friendship, and the raw beauty of Nepal’s mountains — something we’ll never forget.
🚌 The Journey Begins
Our adventure kicked off early in the morning as we boarded two comfortable buses from our college premises. The energy was infectious — music, laughter, and snacks filled the air as we started our long but scenic ride towards Mustang. The winding roads, the changing landscapes, and the cold mountain breeze made the journey itself part of the experience.
Our bus drivers were friendly and experienced, maneuvering through the steep mountain roads with confidence. Even though the ride was long, frequent tea stops and sing-along sessions made it a lot of fun.
🏔 Day 1: Jomsom, Rupse Waterfall & Marpha
Our first stop was Jomsom, a beautiful town surrounded by snow-clad peaks. The weather was chilly but refreshing, and everyone was instantly in love with the serene atmosphere. We checked into our hotel, which offered warm rooms, hot showers, and delicious local food exactly what we needed after the long road trip.
That day, we visited Rupse Waterfall, one of the most mesmerizing spots along the way. The sound of rushing water against the backdrop of towering cliffs was breathtaking. Later, we strolled through Marpha, the famous apple village. Sipping fresh apple juice and chatting with locals gave us a glimpse into the simple, peaceful lifestyle of the people there.
🏯 Day 2: Lo Manthang and Dumba Tal
The next morning, we set off for Lo Manthang, the walled city of Upper Mustang. The drive was long but incredibly scenic dry valleys, ancient caves, and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. When we finally reached Lo Manthang, it felt like stepping into history. The traditional houses, monasteries, and friendly locals made the visit truly special.
On the way, we also visited Dumba Tal, a serene lake surrounded by rugged hills. The calm waters reflected the clear blue sky, and many of us sat there quietly, soaking in the peace. Our teachers guided us to observe local geography, architecture, and cultural heritage turning the trip into a true learning experience.
That night, our hotel stay in Lo Manthang was cozy and comfortable. The hotel staff were warm and welcoming, and they even helped arrange a small bonfire where we shared stories and laughter under the starlit sky.
🚩 Day 3: Korala Border and Lete
The next morning, we made our way towards the Korala border, the gateway between Nepal and Tibet. Standing so close to the border felt surreal the strong winds, the barren yet majestic landscape, and the fluttering Tibetan prayer flags created a scene straight out of a travel documentary.
In the evening, we traveled down to Lete, where we stayed overnight. The area was surrounded by pine forests and misty mountains an ideal place to rest after days of travel. The hotel provided excellent service, with clean rooms and hearty meals that made everyone happy.
🎒 Reflections and Memories
Throughout the journey, we shared countless laughs, songs, and moments of wonder. The bond among classmates grew stronger helping each other during hikes, sharing snacks, taking group photos, and staying up late talking about everything from future goals to funny travel mishaps.
The trip was not only educational but also deeply inspiring. We learned about the geography, culture, and lifestyle of the Mustang region, while also discovering the value of teamwork and friendship.
❤ Conclusion
Our Mustang trip was more than just an excursion it was an experience that blended learning, adventure, and togetherness. From Rupse Waterfall to Korala Border, every destination taught us something new. As we returned home, tired but happy, we carried memories that will last a lifetime.
We may forget the long bus rides or the chilly nights, but we’ll never forget the feeling of standing under the open Mustang sky with our friends free, curious, and full of dreams.
